On Tuesday the 17th Dorie and Rakaia will come together to do cross country like ever other school in Mid Canterbury. We practise for 15 minters every day. We really enjoy cross country. We really have to push ourselves and pace ourselves otherwise we get the stitch and can't go any further. It's hard and tiring. We hope Dorie school does really well.

Hook The Movie
Today in AVAILLL we watched Hook. We watched a funny part where the Lost Boys teach Peter Pan how to fight and get his imagination back. We had to read the subtitles and look for words that came after 'with'. We got put into teams and we will find out soon which team won! Olivia was our special winner, (wild card) so she will be on the winning team no matter what!

Term two reading
This term team toroa is doing a new reading style. We watch a movie with subtitles then Mrs Townshend pushes pause and we have to remember the last subtitles that we saw. On Tuesday we had a practise, most of us got two - three out of five. That is pretty good. The movie that we are watching this term is Hook. We think it is very exciting.

New iPad
The Dorie School have been spoilt and have now got a new iPad 2! Team Toroa are very lucky to receive the iPad and everybody is wanting a turn on it. It arrived in class on the 3rd May; and has many cool features, like a built in camera, and is lighter and skinnier.
At the moment, Mrs Townshend is downloading other features and games, and is exploring what other awesome things she can use for teaching us.

The school holidays
We just had the school holidays. We had a exciting time. This morning we had news of what we did in the holidays. Some people went overseas and around New Zealand. Some people went to their friends places. Mother and Aunties had babies. We started our class routine already from the holidays. This morning we got to have look at our homework and see what awards we go - gold, silver and bronze.
Come and check them out in Room 4 - they are displayed on the walls.

My last day
Hi my name Jasmine and it is my last day of the term. I will not be coming back and I will miss the school very much. I have been here for two years and really enjoyed myself.
The teachers here are great I will miss them especially. I will also miss the children - they are great friends and very sporty.
This school has been very inspiring and I have learnt a lot the sports gear is awesome and the art supplies... well just don't get me started.
Thank you!
