The Hunger Games

Recently, for reading the Yr 7's have been doing a literature circle to the book, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Each Wednesday they have the Literature Circle meeting. This is when they share their work they have done about the Hunger Games. Each time we read a couple of chapters and then do the sheet. Each person has a job they do for example, Connector, Passage Picker, Discussion Director, Word Master, Illustrator and Summariser.

The Yr 7's are really enjoying the book and can't wait to finish the book and read the rest of the series.

P.E.

Dorie school is now doing P.E. options. The options are: Skiing, Squash, Gymnastics and Golf. We do it every tuesday for 4 weeks.

The Skiers go up to Mt Hutt for either a day or half a day. Weather permitting of course!

For Squash they go to the Rakaia Domain Squash courts. They go for half the day.

The Gymnastics is up in Christchurch at the Olympia Gymnasium. They are up there for half the day.

The Golf is held at the school and then at the Rakaia Golf course. They do it for half a day.

We are all having a great time and we enjoy having the opportunity to have a fun day out of school!
